Robert MacLaverty has over 19 years of experience in capital markets, credit, trading and institutional sales of structured products. He has served as a market maker in U.S. Treasury securities at a primary dealer, a principal and agency trader of various ISDA structures at some of the world’s leading investment banks, and as an institutional salesperson of other fixed income securities and their derivatives. His tenure as a FINRA registered representative has included over 16 years as a direct provider of financial services and products as well as several years as a proprietary trader and member of the Chicago Board of Trade (CME Group).
Before joining BRG Capital Advisors LLC, Mr. MacLaverty has and continues to serve as a litigation consultant and expert witness with BRG LLC on behalf of law firms, banks, hedge funds, insurance companies and regulatory bodies. He was credit trained at the Morgan Guaranty Trust Company of New York’s commercial bank management program, followed by a position as a financial analyst in its Financial Advisory Services group.
Mr. MacLaverty graduated with an A.B. (Cum Laude) from Boston College, an M.A. from Georgetown University, a post-graduate fellowship at the London School of Economics and completed all coursework and comprehensive exams (not including dissertation) in the Ph.D program in economics at the University of Notre Dame. Mr. MacLaverty is FINRA Registered under Series 7 and 63, and is a member of the American Economics Association.
